At Carstens Records, we like to think of ourselves as the accidental heroes of the vinyl organization world. Our family has spent the last 130+ years mastering the fine art of making tough-as-nails office supplies—think medical clipboards that could probably survive the
apocalypse. For over a century, the Carstens name has been a fixture in the healthcare industry, delivering sturdy, American-made products that simply don’t quit. But let’s be real: as much as we respect the family legacy, a couple of guys can only get so excited about filing cabinets and paper organizers.
Enter: John and George, the third generation of Carstens owners who just so happen to be obsessed with music. Sure, we’re grateful for the family business and all, but we’re here for the records. Vinyl, to be specific. We grew up flipping through stacks and stacks of records, collecting, curating, and filling every available shelf with albums. So, we thought: why not put our family’s expertise in making ultra-durable products to good use? Why not build something we actually care about? (Spoiler: office supplies never made the cut.) And that’s how Carstens Records was born.
